Industry Excellence on Full Display at the 2026 Okanagan Housing Awards
February 1, 2026 – Kelowna, B.C. – The Canadian Home Builders’ Association of the Central Okanagan (CHBA-CO) proudly announced the recipients of the prestigious 2026 Okanagan Housing Awards of Excellence during a gala celebration held on January 31, 2026. Now in its 33rd year, the Okanagan Housing Awards of Excellence recognize outstanding achievement in home building, renovation, and interior design, celebrating the professionals and project teams who continue to set the standard for residential construction across the region.
“These awards represent the highest level of excellence in our industry,” said Cassidy deVeer, Executive Officer of the CHBA-CO. “Each winning project reflects the skill, creativity, and collaboration required to deliver exceptional homes in the Okanagan. The Okanagan Housing Awards of Excellence are about recognizing leadership, innovation, and the people behind the work that continues to elevate housing quality throughout our communities.”

Ian Paine Construction and Design emerged as one of the evening’s most recognized firms, earning four awards, including the Grand Award for Design Firm of the Year. The firm received three awards in the design category, along with an additional award as a project partner with Richbuilt Custom Homes, highlighting both design excellence and successful collaboration across project teams.

Dilworth Homes was also a standout of the evening, taking home the Grand Award for Builder of the Year, in addition to two other category wins. The recognition reflects Dilworth Homes’ commitment to quality construction, innovation, and leadership within the residential building sector.

Another notable project recognized by the judges was Modern Emerald Cottage, designed by Magpie Interiors in collaboration with renovation experts Jessie J Contracting. The project was celebrated for its thoughtful design and execution, with Magpie Interiors also earning two additional category awards, underscoring the firm’s design excellence across multiple project types.
On the supplier side, Adriatic Granite & Marble Works Ltd. was named Supplier of the Year, while also earning recognition as a project partner in three award-winning categories. These honours highlight the critical role suppliers play in the success of high-quality residential projects and the collaborative nature of award-winning work.

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Lifetime Achievement Award to Kevin Edgecombe, recognizing his lasting contributions to the residential construction industry and his significant impact on the Central Okanagan building community. This award honours individuals whose careers have helped shape the industry and inspire excellence for future generations.
Judging for the 2026 Okanagan Housing Awards of Excellence took place in November, with submissions evaluated by a panel of 14 award-winning judges from across Canada. The awards process was independently audited by Doane Grant Thornton, reinforcing the integrity, transparency, and national standard of excellence behind the program.
The CHBA-CO extends its congratulations to all winners and nominees for their exceptional work. These awards recognize not only the vision of builders, renovators, designers, and suppliers, but also the collective efforts of the trades, consultants, and project teams whose collaboration brings these projects to life.
