Best in Housing: Two Kelowna Businesses win Provincial Housing Awards

May 31, 2024

April 31, 2024 – Kelowna, B.C. – Two local Kelowna companies are celebrating as they took home awards celebrating provincial excellence in residential construction. The 32nd edition of the Georgie Awards took place in Vancouver on May 25, 2024. The Georgie Awards honours and highlights the incredibly innovative companies that build, renovate, develop, create and market homes in British Columbia.

To be eligible for a Georgie Award, companies must be a CHBA BC member and the submitted project must be from January 1, 2022, to October 31, 2023. A judging panel of out-of-province industry professionals determine the finalists and winners, followed by an independent accounting firm confirming the results.

“Each year, we marvel at the projects that are finalists in the Georgie Awards, and this year is no exception. The homes that were finalists and winners are a testament to the innovation and creativity that go into each project,” said Neil Moody, CEO, CHBA BC. “Everyone involved in building these homes, from conception to completion, must be commended for their outstanding work.”

One of those members is Central Okanagan builder Carrington Homes. Their Bennett Model won the award for the Best Single-Family Detached Home over 2,200 Sq. Ft. over $750,000. This show home from the Trail Heads Community is designed for a wide demographic, that offers a beautiful and welcoming living space, with ample room to relax or host gatherings.

“Hearing our name and accepting our first-ever Georgie award in a room full of such talented industry leaders was an unforgettable experience. Competing against the best builders in British Columbia, winning this award is a monumental achievement for us,” said Regan Dockrill, Construction Manager of Carrington Homes. “This award is a well-deserved accomplishment for the entire Carrington Homes team, and we take immense pride in it, knowing we couldn’t have done it without them.”

Another incredible win was achieved by Raquel Millikin of Isabey Interiors, Align West Homes and Okanagan Hardwood Flooring Co. They accepted the award for Best Interior Design Display Suite – Single-Family or Multi-Family Production.
